Head Coach Van Owens has his work cut out for him going into the new season.
Although practice sessions have been going pretty well, being in a small class, 1A,
sometimes you just don't have a lot of players dressing out. This is one of those times.
The up side of that is everybody gets to play, most of them on both offense and defense.
Like the Quarterback, Sr. Austin Mills, who will also spend some time at running back on
offense and then, fill a linebacker slot on defense. The coach has a lot of confidence in
his returning seniors, hoping they will fill the leadership roles effectively. The
Conquerors are in a new region this year and will be playing many teams that haven't
been on their schedule in recent years. They start off with Collinsville on the road and
Owens expects that to be a tough test for his team. Then Donaho at home will be the
second of six consecutive regional games for his team.
